Stereo Nick Abbot Virgin Collection

Earlier in 2007 I started transcribing some of my old tapes of Nick Abbot from his Virgin days. So far the following are available, but over time I plan to add the later tapes I have from 1995-1997.

At the time Virgin was only broadcast on 1215KHz MW (there was no 105.8MHz FM service in 1994). However, it was broadcast in near FM radio quality on the Astra satellite on a pair of audio subcarriers (7.38/7.56MHz) on the same channel used by Sky news. These tapes were recorded from the Astra satellite directly onto a HiFi sound (4 head) VHS machine, so very little is lost from the original. The satellite receiver did not have any Wegner decoding so the audio sounds dynamically compressed, but fairly acceptable. The numbers in front of the file names indicate the VHS tape they came from. These tapes are unedited and just as recorded.

This is my complete collection of recordings from 1994. I have tapes of his Virgin shows from 1995 and 1997 that were more music based, but have not yet been transcribed them to computer. Don't hold your breath as it could be years before I get around to it. These shows are hosted on a fast server with vast traffic allowances so please Go For it !!
